Salary Schedule/Policy:


Salaries at Carbon Valley Academy are not established pursuant to C.R.S. 22-32-109.4 (which is inapplicable) or 22-63-401 (which is waived). The School establishes teacher and administrative salaries individually, based on an employee's job duties, experience, qualification, needs, and performance, as well as comparison to salaries for comparable positions in other nonprofits, schools or districts, and defines those salaries through written individual agreements of employment.


Primary responsibility for determining and negotiating salaries rests with the Executive Director. The Board of Directors provides oversight and, in particular, examines school performance and retention rates closely to determine that salaries are attracting and keeping a capable educational staff. The Executive Director systematically audits all professional salaries annually to assure that no inappropriate or concerning disparities have emerged and reports the result of this review to the Board.
